New Class Names

UV is known across the city for offering comprehensive and safe pole training from the ground up. Our unique curriculum is based on sound principles; we lay the foundation for you to build upon and grow as an artist, while encouraging creativity and individuality from your fav instructors.

After many years of our fun and funky class names, we are changing things up. Our new class titles are simple, concise and self-descriptive. If you are unsure which level is for you, check out our prerequisites below, or book a free fitness assessment with us.


Pole Beginner 1

  • No experience necessary


Pole Beginner 2

  • Fireman spin

  • Cross-legged pole sit 

  • Step up onto pole

  • Pole hold

  • Shoulder stand on floor, back to pole

  • Big dip to backwards spin

  • Side tuck-hold for 3 seconds

  • Aussie thigh hold (hands on)

  • Straight-legged pole sit 

  • Kick spin

  • Performance climb pose 


Inversions 1

  • One-handed fireman spin

  • Diamond spin

  • Sundial/double stag spin (any grip)

  • Chair spin

  • Corkscrew spin 

  • Sit-body flag-ball

  • Corkscrew static hold-3 seconds

  • Performance climb to top

  • Step up onto pole-forward fold

  • Basic bow and arrow position (no contact with top leg)

  • Push-pull grip straddle-3 seconds

  • Basic invert to bat position with snake-out

  • Basic invert to handstand position

  • Basic invert to shoulder stand back to pole

  • Genie from floor 



Inversions 2

  • Basic spiral spin (bent knees acceptable)

  • Diamond to spiral spin (push-pull or baseball grip)

  • Climb to layback, retire descent

  • Straddle back hold 5 seconds-exit via grabbing the pole with thighs

  • Windmill (any grip)

  • Outside leg hang (no hands)

  • Inside leg hang (no hands)

  • Butterfly (inverted push-pull double stag leg hook)

  • Superman from any entry

  • Push-pull to straddle to diamond to corkscrew

  • Juliette Spin



Intermediate 1

  • Straight-legged spiral spin

  • Hang ten to any spin position

  • Brass sit (from standing on floor or climb)

  • Sugar glider

  • Spinning helicopter

  • Climb to underarm pike hold

  • Straight-leg butterfly

Intermediate 2

  • Straight-leg straddle back

  • Brass monkey (any entry)

  • Cat pounce (inverted lower leg hold/ayesha prep)

  • Straddle to corkscrew to bow and arrow to butterfly

  • Cupid hold

  • Aerial invert (bent knee develope acceptable)

  • Funny grip tuck and hold

  • Tabletop invert

  • Iguana mount

  • Reiko split mount

  • Spiral spin wrap to body flag 

  • Underarm hold (any shape)



Advanced Pole

  • Straight-leg aerial invert

  • Brass monkey descent to sit

  • Aerial body flag 

  • True-grip Ayesha

  • Aerial shoulder mount (from superman or pole sit)

  • Elbow grip push-pull (or Ayesha)

  • Cupid transition to butterfly

  • Pole-stand (one hand on floor, one hand on pole)

  • Handstand pelvic roll to straddle sit on floor

  • Cirque climbs

  • Cheated front split (centre splits definitely an asset as well)



Aerial Pole: Inversions 1 prerequisites are same for aerial pole. Students can be assess by instructor or can be approved based on experience on other apparatuses.

Lyra B1

  • No experience necessary


Beginner 2 Lyra

  • Double knee hangs from top and bottom

  • Straddle back from bottom and side (bent knee/develope entry acceptable)

  • Half sit/stride

  • Front hip fold (pullover on bottom)

  • Double arm hang from top and bottom (with safe exit)

  • Standing in hoop

  • Sitting on hoop

  • Baby and faux baby/cradle

  • Basic spin 

  • Mermaid/side straddle mount 

  • Person in moon, no hands 

  • Straddle back balance

  • Basic illusions including sit, pullover, halfsie, half sit

  • Double elbow hang

  • Layback

 

Intermediate Lyra

  • Skin the cat (does not need to be crazy deep, just knowledge and confidence in the action of)

  • Single knee hang 

  • Straight leg straddle back from side and middle

  • Pullover to front balance

  • Single arm hangs from bottom of hoop

  • Basic fast spin 

  • Standing on hoop 

  • Single elbow hang 

  • Toe touch 

  • Pullover on top

  • Split under bar in the hoop

  • Single arm hang from top-reach around to enter hoop

  • Body flag in lines

  • Splits or at least a cheated split

Silks B1

  • No experience necessary
