Instructor Spotlight: Angel

Angel is a fun, talented, strong aerialist who teaches aerial hammock and silks on Friday, along with the occasional Lyra class at UV. We are delighted to have this bubbly, energetic human supervise the studio on Saturday afternoons as well, so make sure to say hello if you see her!

What is your profession? Research Technician as my 9-5 / aerial silks & hammock instructor at UV

What makes you passionate about aerial/circus/pole? I love watching circus shows, cabarets, student showcases… that sparked my interest in learning pole in 2014 and circus training in 2017. The beauty of dancing around the pole, spinning in the air on any aerial apparatuses capture me. There’s never ending opportunity of learning and innovation of movement and dance when it comes to pole and cirque.

What do you love sharing with your students? Foundational moves and strength conditioning.

What makes you feel sexy and/or good about yourself? (Mood, music, clothing, etc)? Trip hop,  cute pole outfits, unitards & pole heels!

What is your fav pole or cirque move? Splits lol

What is your fav grip aid? Dryhand and rosin

Fav brand of pole shorts? Fit2fly, oksa wear

Fav food? Too many but all carbs!

Any tips for fast spins? I get dizzy so I like slow baby spins but ginger candies help

Advice for newbies? Be patient and the tricks will come once master the foundation moves. Try other apparatuses and take classes from all instructors, and go to open practice!

Heels or no? Heels when I pole dance coz I’m short
